Most towns spread their summer across a dozen venues. Scotts Valley concentrates it. Between the last Friday of April and the last Friday of October, a striking share of what residents actually put on the calendar happens on the same rectangle of grass off Kings Village Road, run by an overlapping cast of school volunteers, family food-truck operators, and Kiwanis members who seem to work every event.
If you already live here, the practical question is not whether to go to Skypark this summer. It is which Skypark night is worth planning around, and which of the newer places in town are worth pairing with it.
